Run by Seth.
A studio of one.

GearArts is a studio of one. Seth is the founder and the builder — strategy, design system, copy, build. When you work with GearArts you're working with him directly. No account managers, no committees, no second-string designer slotted onto your project.

For four years I built sites for small businesses across South Africa — restaurants, retail, professional services. The pattern was always the same: clients whose work was real and whose websites were hurting them. Two years ago I started studying how the world's best premium service businesses present themselves online — boutique architecture firms, top-tier advisory practices, high-end hospitality groups, design studios published in print. The gap between what those businesses do and what their websites do is the gap GearArts now closes.

We work with a select few. Some engagements are projects, some are long partnerships. Both are welcome. The door is open — book a call and we'll see.

How We Work

Three principles. Held openly.

01

Specific over abstract.

Every word on every site we build either earns its place by saying something concrete, or it doesn't ship. No 'elevate your brand.' No 'we craft experiences.' Sentences that could appear on a thousand other sites die in the first draft.

02

Restraint over decoration.

Motion punctuates. It doesn't decorate. If we can't defend why a thing moves, it doesn't move. The site reads like a magazine because magazines understand pace.

03

Show the work, name the price.

We publish our process. We say what we charge on calls. We refer out the clients we're not right for. Trust compounds through transparency, not through claims of it.

If you've read this far, you're probably the kind of studio we're looking for.
